Scooby's Going on Holiday

My humans recently decided that it would be a good idea to go on holiday thus leaving me in an abyss of abandonment. It won't be so bad this year though because I'm going to stay with my human's best friend Jessie (the blonde one) 

We're gonna have loads of fun and she will take over tweeting duties as my new scribe for the week. 

On the road again :) 

Scooby Does: Some Tough Times

As a hamster living in a family of cats i've had my fair share of tough times. Cats trying to eat me. Cats trying to chase me. Cats trying to invade my cage of serenity. However I have encountered my first ever tough time that is not related to the feline of the family.

I've started the lose hair...

Is this normal? Admittedly because my owner used to worry about me a lot i used to live in her bedroom where i wasn't the happiest but now i'm back downstairs and am slowly growing some more fur on my back. Scary times though, hair loss could be down to anything.

I suppose the meaning of this post is to really remind hammy owners that we have feelings and emotions too and these can be affected by our entire environment. My owner made the mistake of keeping me in her bedroom which had little sunlight and not very much human interaction - this was only for a couple of weeks but it's still not good living conditions for a hamster and she tells me she's sorry every day. Just remember that we like to have our people around just as much as you guys love to have us around :). I was stressed so now i have a stress-free week plan with plenty of fruit and veg treats, cuddles, exercise and human interaction.

Thankfully after only a couple of days I have recovered much of my hair and my owner lives aware of how much I need my proper environment 

Scooby Does Mission Impossible

Hey friends,
since obtaining a brand new 'Fort Scoob', and realising my love for Tom Cruise i have become a fan of 'Mission Impossible'. I saw a Facebook video of a little baby being 'mission impossible'd' by its father and lol'd as much as is possible for a hamster who spends most of his life with his cheek pouches filled to the brim. So, with the help of my owner I decided to make my own 'Mission Impossible' short, in the hopes that Tom might see me as a possible co-star in any future films. Tom, if you're reading this, i can do a variety of facial expressions and sometimes I stand up on command when there's a treat being held above my head, call me.

Return Of The Scoob

Hey guys, i'm back after taking a break after Christmas and celebrating my first birthday properly. It was a joyous occasion with a brand new treat stick to hang from my cage and a seesaw to play with, even though i haven't really got the hang of that yet and my owner couldn't work out how to put it together right. Anyway, there are loads of things i've been up to that I can report on in a few blog posts soon, but until then please enjoy this photo of me sitting on my bottom.

Scooby Does... Making Friends

Yesterday, the rest of the family brought home a new cat. Disaster. He's a decent guy, but given half the chance he will chase and then savagely throw me about while feasting on my tiny pea-sized brain. His name is Merlin, and he poses such a threat that my cage has to be surrounding with mugs so that he can't get to me. That's the thing with cats, they don't know how good they have it. There's no one in their house who will try and rip them to pieces with their teeth and nom on their intestines. There's no one in their house to jump up unexpected, and glare at you through the bars of your cage.

So yeah, there's now a brand new force which lives with the intention to end my existence. Great. If you don't hear from me for a while, blame this guy, selfish ginger.

Look at him. Plotting ways to end my life. We might be friends though, if he stops trying to kill me, which let's face it, is the basis of most of my friendships. 

Scooby Does... Total Wipeout

Because Total Wipeout is presented by my favourite presenter Richard Hammond, I decided to have a go. 

There should be nothing wrong with a fully grown hamster watching humans throw themselves off of giant red balls... :P. This is why I decided to have another go on the Total Wipeout course that was made for me. After some painstaking hours spent re-designing the course after I fell off the top and got stuck in a hurdle (one sesame seed too much maybe?), the finished course was created.

 At first I was crap. But I soon got the hang of it, after a few more tries. Unfortunately Richard Hammond wasn't available to present my attempt at this hamster Total Wipeout obstacle course, nor was  the channel Watch able to produce it. Therefore, using a pretty crap camera and iMovie, we have created our own video of the escapade.
